The Curtiss F11C Goshawk entered service with the US Navy in 1932, and was used by several other air forces around the world.
The F-11C was was modified and renamed as the BFC-2 Hawk, which was classed as a fighter-bomber with changed cockpit and fuselage. The other more major change was the BF2-C which had retractable undercarriage.
The export versions of these were the Hawk II and Hawk III and all versions were armed with 2 x 7.62mm machine guns, and could carry bombs under the wings and fuselage.
