Curtiss SB2C Helldiver - Part I
The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver entered service with the US Navy in 1942, and was used by several other air forces around the world.

The Helldiver was not well liked at first, and over 800 modifications had to be made before acceptance by the US Navy. Export orders were greatly cut back, but it did see a long service post war, also having a good combat record with the USN.

The Helldiver was armed with 2 x 20mm cannon, 2 x 7.62mm machine guns, and could carry 2,000 lb of bombs or a torpedo in the bomb bay and 2 x 500 lb bombs under-wing.
